Weekly Maintenance Guide: Windows 11 EKG Laptops
To ensure operational readiness and security compliance, all Windows 11 laptops designated for EKG use must undergo a weekly maintenance check. This procedure verifies that devices are fully updated and that the Midmark IQecg license server connection remains active to prevent data loss during patient procedures.
Power On and Connect: Ensure the laptop is plugged into a power source and connected to the internet via WiFi (Aspire WiFi)
User Login: Log in using your Aspire email and password
Active Session: Maintain the login session for at least 30 minutes to allow background policy updates and security scans to initiate (During this time you can use the device to perform your daily workflow activities ie. using Athena or MIX).
Regular updates are critical to resolving driver conflicts and performance issues.
Open Settings: Press the Windows Key and type "Update," then select Check for updates.
Download and Install: Click the Check for updates button. Allow all pending "Security" and "Cumulative" updates to download and install.
Advanced Options:
Navigate to Advanced options > Optional updates.
Select and install any available updates for Firmware or Drivers, as these are often required for peripheral compatibility.
Restart: Once installations are complete, restart the computer. Note: Frequent restarts are a primary resolution for most EKG software failures.
The most common failure for EKG machines is the "Cannot read data from license server" error. Follow these steps to verify connectivity:
Launch Software: Open the Midmark IQecg application. (File explorer>”This PC”> Local Disk (C:)>Program Files (x86)>Midmark>Midmark IQecg>Midmark IQecg application)
Check Connection: Ensure no error messages appear regarding the "WinSock" or "License Server".
Test Save/Print: Verify that a dummy test or a previous result can be accessed and saved to the license server.
Issues: If the license remains disconnected after following the steps in Section 3, please submit an IT ticket with the specific error code and device SN.
