Tip 1. Check Physical Privacy Switches (Most Common)
- Slider Switch: Most Chromebooks have a physical privacy slider directly over the camera lense. Ensure it is not blocking the camera.

- Keyboard Switch: Check the top row of your keyboard for a camera icon, or check on the sides of the laptops for a little switch that toggles the camera on and off.
Tip 2. Check Site Permission Settings
- At the top left corner of the web page, between the refresh icon (arrow going in a circle) and the address bar is an icon that will either look like a camera or this

- Click on that icon then select "reset permissions"

- After resetting the permissions, select "allow" to both the camera and microphone.
Tip 3. Check System Permissions
- Go to "Settings"
- Click "Privacy and Security" > "Site Settings" > "Camera"
- Check to make sure the settings are set to "Sites can ask to use your camera" and verify that no apps or websites are listed as blocked.
Tip 4. Restart and Update Chromebook- Restart: A simple restart can fix temporary bugs that stop the camera from funtioning properly.
- Update: Outdated software can cause camera issues. Go to "Settings" > "About ChromeOS" > "Check for updates"
Tip 5. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the chromebook
- Hold down "Refresh" (Top row, arrow-shaped going in a circle) and tap the power button.
- Release the "Refresh" key when the Chromebook restarts.
