Updating your Chrome Device

It's important to keep your laptop updated - updates can provide security patches, the newest features, and the best performance.

Chromebooks update in the background, but still require you to hit the notification to apply the update. You can always check updates by clicking the time in the lower right corner, then the gear, then About Chrome OS:

When the update has fully downloaded, you will receive a notification to Restart to Update. This will finalize the update and may take a few minutes:

You can also tell when you have an update to run if you have the arrow notification in the lower right corner:

This means it's time to click that notification and update your device.
